"Lolita is decadent escapism. It's hiding yourself in skirts of antique lace and crinolines and when the police comes to your door you are ravaged by pearls. Blanche is white and pale in the same entity, and Lolita is alice in wonderland. Hatter calls and bunny runs down the hole, and you have tea parties with people who adjust their headdresses, their chiffon baby collars, and sit down with rocking horse shoes to have their cup of tea."
